Job Description
Position involves a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining electrical infrastructure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lay out install and repair all types of electrical equipment such as hightension switchboards and automatic controls
- Perform all types of plant wiring including the maintenance of signal telephone or loudspeaker systems
- Install and repair relay and ordinary lighting circuit jobs push buttons controls switches cord sets etc.
- Must have knowledge of motors and industrial electronics
- Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions for all electrically controlled equipment
- Recommend and order spare parts and equipment
- Technical school graduate: State apprentice program completed
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience working as an Electrician (preferably in the Industrial environment)
- Verifiable formal training in Electrical Theory and Safety
- Knowledge of PLC Programming Troubleshooting and Repair
- Understanding of industrial motor control AC/DC invertor drives holding circuits and overload protection
- Capable of troubleshooting repairing installing and wiring of basic electrical components such as relays starters motors drives and switches
- Must be able to read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics
- Experience using common electrical tools such as MultiMeters Strippers/Crimpers EMT Benders and Threaders
- Must be able to mechanically disassemble and assemble basic machine components with common hand tools
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal guidelines
- Must be organized neat and able to work independently and as a team member
- Excellent critical thinking and problemsolving ability
- Preferred: Knowledge of Rockwell Automation SLC500
- Preferred: Certificate of competition of an apprenticeship program
- Preferred: E2 License
