Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking a proactive and strategic Development Services Office (DSO) Project Requirements Manager (Mgr. 2 to shape the future of our citys utility infrastructure. This is your opportunity to lead impactful projects influence policy and collaborate with key stakeholders to support SPUs mission.
As the DSO Project Requirements Manager youll take charge of guiding utility management practices related to new developments. Youll leverage your expertise to make strategic decisions and implement programs that enhance water drainage and wastewater services. Your role will involve collaborating with internal teams city departments and the development community to balance priorities and ensure compliance with SPUs standards.

In this role you can expect to:
Serve as a technical expert and advisor to SPU on utilityrelated development issues making independent technical decisions and guiding strategic initiatives
Manage and resolve complex technical and policy challenges related to utility infrastructure including water drainage wastewater utility clearance requirements capacity issues and nonstandard infrastructure scenarios
Lead and direct a team of professional and technical staff responsible for development service permitting and plan review processes for SPUs water drainage and wastewater lines of business
Collaborate with internal SPU branches Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections (SDCI) Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) City Light and other city departments to address competing needs and resolve code conflicts related to development projects
Engage directly with the development community to address feasibility design and regulatory compliance issues ensuring alignment with SPUs standards and requirements
Apply comprehensive knowledge of SPUs lines of business engineering principles and utility regulations to effectively oversee the units work and support the citys infrastructure development goals

Education:Equivalent to a bachelors degree from an accredited fouryear college or university with major coursework in engineering accounting business administration construction management public policy or a related field.
AND
Experience:Two 2 years of experience in construction management operations administration project management or public policy including one 1 year of experience supervising/managing staff.
Certification/Licensure:Current Washington State drivers license or evidence of equivalent mobility.Combinations of appropriate education training certification and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
This position allows for the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Effective January 2025 City employees will have the option to work remotely two days a week. Individual schedules will be agreed upon by the employee and their supervisor.

The full salary range for this position is:$114004.80 $171069.84 Annually
