Protecting the business against financial crime is at the heart of everything we do. This Manager will be responsible for delivering control testing and control support across the operational units within the AML organization.
Core capabilities for this foundational role include a strong collaborative mindset with significant risk management and testing expertise coupled with a balanced approach to driving effectiveness and efficiency to enhance both business and risk management processes and programs. This role requires a wellrounded and seasoned individual who is comfortable adjusting their approach to meet unique needs across multiple stakeholder groups within a complex organization.
Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Leading a team to complete testing of designated controls
Supporting additional reviews of designated controls
Supporting control health of designated controls
Perform reviews of completed test workbooks and results
Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders
Supporting process documentation creation and revision including version control
Review and analyze impact to regulatory applicability and mitigation when business controls are modified or deleted
Lead/participate in crossfunctional and enterprisewide compliance projects programs and initiatives as requested
Support the oversight and revision of written documents such as team policies and desktop job aids
Be intellectually curious to question the obvious explore options and seek to develop and implement efficiencies and process improvements
Use strong verbal and written skills to communicate with key partners and leaders across the AML program
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or military experience
At least 3 years of regulatory compliance experience AntiMoney Laundering (AML) experience risk management experience or controls testing experience or a combination
At least 2 years of experience supporting partnering and interacting with internal business clients
At least 2 years of experience with Excel or Google Sheets
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree
2 years of people leadership experience
5 years of experience in legal regulatory compliance audit or risk management
2 years of experience in implementing and managing controls review assessments or controls testing functions
Strong communication skills including an ability to effectively explain controls and Enterprise Control Standard expectations
Ability to influence business partners to prioritize risk management work
Adaptable to the changing circumstances of a fastpaced technology company
Experience in controls development controls management and reporting activities

The minimum and maximum fulltime annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean VA: $146100 $166700 for Risk ManagerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
