Overview
The Ray Lab at Benaroya Research Institute is seeking a motivated parttime Lab Aide to assist with research operations from June 24th to September 15th. This temporary position offers 25 to 30 hours per week and provides the opportunity to work alongside experienced lab personnel performing routine tasks that support ongoing scientific investigations in immunology. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the sciences and contribute to the maintenance of a clean organized and functional research environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform simple routine and repetitive laboratory tests and procedures under close supervision
Prepare media reagents and stock solutions as needed - Clean rinse and prepare glassware for cleaning and subsequent storage
- Ensure glassware is delivered to appropriate storage areas
- Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment
Clean and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment
Monitor and replenish lab supplies to ensure smooth operation - Assist in setting up experiments and preparing laboratory materials
Perform clerical duties as required such as data entry and organizing lab records
Qualifications
- Graduation from High School or equivalent
- Strong interest in the sciences and desire to work in a research lab setting
- Prior lab experience or coursework in a related science field is preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work efficiently in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude
Compensation
$21.50 to $25.37 hourly
