Job Description

Title: Machine Shop Coordinator & Apprenticeship Instructor

Employee Classification:Administrative/Professional

Department:Regional Center for Advanced Manufacturing (RCAM)

Campus Location: Northeast State at Kingsport

Salary:$55349$61004 dependent on education and experience

Job Summary

Reporting to the RCAM Operations Director the Machine Shop Coordinator & Apprenticeship Instructor will be responsible for developing and delivering standardized lab content to support industrial training programs in a handson lab environment.

Job Duties

Develop and deliver industrial lab training content to stake holders.

Serve as subject matter expert for development of advanced manufacturing program and Machine Tool Apprenticeship.

Facilitate improvement in process effectiveness and efficiency.

Adhere to RCAM Schedule and closure which may differ from other Northeast State schedules and closures

Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in an industrial setting or other relevant qualifying experience as approved by the RCAM Operations Director.
Experience in Mastercam for CNC machine programming.
Craft qualified at the journey level commensurate with teaching assignments
Associates degree in a related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in Manufacturing
Conversational ability or fluency in a second language

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Technology Skills: MS Office suite; videoconferencing software; digital records management systems; general operating systems and data information systems
Ability to make sound decisions with limited supervision
Ability to learn and apply new technology in the lab environment
Ability to coordinate and deliver online curriculum
