John Fawkner is seeking a Hospital Coordinator to join our team on a casual basis. Your clinical skills excellent leadership capabilities and positive approach to work will ensure your success in this role.

John Fawkner Private Hospital is a fully accredited 186bed acute care facility providing a comprehensive range of surgical medical cancer and critical care services. As the largest private hospital with the only private 24 hr. Emergency Department and Critical Care unit in northwestern Melbourne John Fawkner Private works with highly skilled visiting specialists who offer subspecialty expertise.
John Fawkner Private Hospital has a longestablished tradition for providing quality healthcare to our local community the veteran community and patients travelling from regional northwest Victoria.
As the Hospital Coordinator your responsibilities will include:
Supervise safe quality care that meets current best practice standards
Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and Departments
Assist with coordination of staffing
Manage patient flow coordinate and plan operational processes
Coordinate patient admissions and provide discharge planning support
Support the hospitals commitment to quality improvement and National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards
Maintain the safety of staff patients and visitors
Essential Criteria:
Minimum 5 years working as a Registered Nurse
Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
Ability to manage competing demands and coordinate resources appropriately
Advanced interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
Effective analytical and problemsolving skills
Desirable Criteria
Recent experience in bed management and/or patient flow
Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff
High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members
