CAIR San Francisco Bay Area is recruiting an experienced and accomplished candidate for its new Development Manager role. This fulltime managementlevel position is essential for executing the organizations fastpaced grassroots fundraising efforts. With extensive experience and a diverse background in nonprofit development and staff management the ideal candidate will continue and enhance our fundraising activities helping us to achieve and exceed our development goals and strengthen our fundraising processes as we grow strategically.
Title: Development Manager
Schedule Type: Fulltime (Exempt). Occasional evenings and weekends required.
Location: Based in CAIRs Santa Clara office. CAIR staff are currently working a hybrid schedule with three days inperson and two days remote.
Requirements: Ability to travel throughout the Bay Area (vehicle and drivers license required); authorization to work in the United States.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Executive Director Supervises Development Coordinator and Development Specialist
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation of multichannel fundraising initiatives through annual fundraising appeals events and campaigns (includes digital campaigns social media direct mail crowdfunding and other channels)
- Collaborate closely with CAIRCA offices and local staff to create campaign assets including fundraising and program material
- Manage the overall work of the Development team in implementing a comprehensive donor stewardship program that involves building processes a pipeline and stewardship practices
- Oversee the creation and implementation of the donor recognition programs with support from the Development Coordinator Development Specialist and Governance Board Fundraising Committee
- Oversee implementation and coordination of all special event activities including annual gala Ramadan campaign and individual fundraisers and donor events
- Secure sponsorship and advertisements for annual gala and special events/programs
- Oversee grants management and provide leadership and final sign off on grant and foundation applications
- Manage a master calendar to reflect the communication with donors special events and campaigns
- Oversee the implementation of the monthly donor program to include maintenance/engagement of existing donors and expansion of new donors
- Oversee the implementation and promotion of a planned giving program
- Participate in CAIRSFBAs Management Team including regular meetings advice to executives and facilitation of organizational goals
Other duties as assigned dependent on organizational needs and employee skills. All CAIR staff are required to assist in general duties such as answering phones weekly outreach and other office tasks.
Required Qualifications
- At minimum three years of fund development experience specifically in grassroots communityfocused fundraising efforts in the nonprofit sector
- At minimum three years of experience managing staff and volunteers
- Strong organizational skills ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
- Strong initiative and the ability to learn in a selfdirected manner with minimal supervision
- A record of measurable fundraising and donor engagement results
- Excellent oral and written communication and skills to interface with stakeholders
- Basic computer proficiency including knowledge of MS Office MS Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
- Highly motivated selfinitiating and energetic
- A strong commitment to civil rights and CAIRs mission
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Arab Muslim Middle Eastern and/or South Asian communities
- Familiarity with Quickbooks Network for Good social media fundraising
Compensation
- Compensation in the range of $85479$96153/annually commensurate with experience
