Job Duties
We are looking for professionals driven by diagnosing and solving plumbing issues to support the maintenance of VDOT facilities!
The Richmond District Facilities team is seeking a Master Plumber to oversee facilities project work performed by contractors. You will ensure work is performed to industry standards code compliance and sign off as completed accordingly. This position will also perform handson plumbing work while maintaining industry standards and code compliance complete assigned work orders perform preventive maintenance and inspections according to manufacturers recommendations and schedules. You will perform and respond to unscheduled or emergency repairs on all VDOT property types within the Richmond District. Ensure 24/7 availability for responding to emergency events.
VDOT is an emergency response agency and this position is the core of this requirement therefore you will work outside of normal work hours during emergency operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Possession of and ability to maintain Virginia DPOR issued Master Plumbing license
Knowledge of building trades and construction e.g. plumbing.
Skill in the use of computers software applications digital cameras Building Automation Systems.
Skill in the use of a variety of hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment used in building trades.
Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently prioritizing and completing them in a potentially stressful environment.
Ability to estimate quantities and costs prepare daily documentation and reports related to project activities.
Ability to perform physically demanding labor in extreme heat and cold lift up to 50 lbs. climb ladders and work on uneven ground.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to manage projects and administer contracts related to facilities operations.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings specifications blueprints building and fire codes.
Valid drivers license.
Additional Considerations
Backflow Prevention Device Worker Certification.
Experience in building construction as project inspector superintendent or project manager.
Multiple Virginia DPOR tradesmen licensures.
Experience with outsourcing approach to facilities management.
Knowledge of MMS software specifically Facility Force.

VDOT is an emergency operation agency. As such this job is essential to emergency response operations and expected to work in these situations to include weekends holidays and after normal business hours; assignments may vary based on business needs to include working in severe weather.
VDOT utilizes a marketbased pay program which has been approved by DHRM. Therefore advertised rates of pay may or may not align with the Commonwealth pay bands.
