Job Description
Duties include care for patients affected by prematurity respiratory distress infectious diseases congenital heart disease and/or other anomalies. Clinical responsibilities include resuscitation of newborns care of healthy newborns daytoday management of babies in the Special Care Nursery and care of hospitalized children. Procedures performed include circumcisions umbilical central lines lumbar punctures frenulectomies intubations and emergent needle decompression of pneumothorax. Responsibilities will include direct patient care as well as opportunities for educating advanced practice providers medical students and Family Medicine residents. This position is solely inpatient. Hospitalists work 12hour shifts inhouse 24 weeks per year.
Qualifications
MD DO or foreign degree equivalent. Eligible for Wisconsin medical license. BE/BC in Pediatrics or in final year of ACGMEAccredited program leading to board eligibility in Pediatrics.
