Supply Chain Manager
FullTime
Indianapolis IN
Our client is heavily invested in the aerospace and automotive industries and they have an opening on their Indianapolis based team for a Supply Chain Manager to oversee procurement shipping and receiving and production planning.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the aerospace and/or automotive industries and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and costeffective management of the supply chain.
Supply Chain Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and costeffective acquisition of materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure quality and reliability.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
- Oversee the shipping and receiving operations to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
- Coordinate with logistics providers to optimize transportation costs and delivery schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to shipping and receiving.
- Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses.
- Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure alignment of production schedules with supply chain activities.
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans as necessary to address any issues or delays.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate records of all supply chain activities.
- Implement and manage supply chain software systems to enhance efficiency and visibility.
- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals to achieve departmental goals.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance.
Supply Chain Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in supply chain management preferably in the aerospace and/or automotive sectors.
- Strong knowledge of procurement logistics and production planning processes.
- Excellent negotiation communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple priorities.
