Job Description
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering particularly environmental engineering or a closely related field of engineering.
Additional degrees preferred: Biology Chemistry Atmospheric Science or related Sciencefield.
Two years of jobrelated experience in environmental engineering design and compliance or in a related engineering profession.
Current valid Drivers License and clean driving record in accordance with State of Montana Vehicle Use Policy
Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a casebycase basis.

The Air Quality Engineering Scientist performs unique analyses calculations and professional functions essential to the implementation of the air quality program in the state of Montana. Responsibilities include: Review to determine prescribe and assess the implementation of devices systems and processes meet air pollution compliance and control regulations; Conducting field inspections and analysis to determine whether facilities equipment and industrial processes are operated in compliance with air quality rules and permit requirements; Review and implementation of state and federal statutes rules and policies; and Acting as a liaison for the Department to the public and industry on air quality matters.
