Job Description
Overview:
40 hours (four 10hr shifts) per week plus an afterhours/weekend oncall requirement

Job Description:
- Assists with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures in compliance with protocols policies and guidelines.
- Prepares patients for procedures including allergy documentation; monitors patients conditions during procedures e.g. blood pressure and heart rate. Administers and blood products under the orders and supervision of a physician.
- Documents according to organizational standards policies and procedures.
- Educates patients and families on cardiac catheterization procedures and policies.
- Maintains and cleans cardiac equipment and upholds laboratory safety.
- Engages in the workplace community by staying aware of changes participating in data collection or auditing understanding Quality Improvement and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
- Works in accordance with oncall and scheduling requirements for the Catheterization and Electrophysiology Team.
Education Requirement:
BSN required.
Licensure Requirement:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio required.
Certifications:
BLS required.
PALS and ACLS certifications required within 4 months of employment

Experience:
One year of catheterization lab nurse or critical care experience preferred.
Congenital heart disease experience preferred.
