As a Senior Tax Manager U.S. International in the US Tax Reporting and Analysis group you will be responsible for managing and reviewing aspects of the US Consolidated Federal Income Tax return for Caterpillar Inc. and its subsidiaries primarily focused on GILTI and other Subpart F inclusions. This position is part of a team that performs compliance and provision activities provides analysis to the Planning and Technical group and helps lead the IRS income tax audit.

What You Will Do:

  • Leading GILTI processes for US tax compliance audit and provision
  • Performing both detailed and quality reviews on the US International compliance processes (including E&P Subpart F and forms) utilizing technical expertise understanding complexity of data and applying tax reporting requirements
  • Managing US Tax Reporting & Analysis team members in responding to government requests analyzing impacts and guiding resolution in consideration of enterprise impact
  • Supervising team of 45 staff setting goal/metrics monitoring progress and providing training coaching and development
  • Managing team deadlines across the tax calendar and lifecycle prioritizing work efforts and developing opportunities for staff

What You Have:

  • Education/Experience:The position typically requires a Bachelors Degree in accounting finance or business related degree and 6 years of progressively responsible income tax related experience.
  • Tax Management: Knowledge of US International tax concepts with ability to advise develop policies and controls and monitor tax reporting requirements and case law.
  • Producing Results: Ensures time resources and actions are focused on priorities and understands criticality of timeliness. Guides staff and tax managers to complete analysis to the appropriate level needed.
  • Influencing through Expertise: Leads teams to effectively achieve objectives which includes intragroup and multifunctional teams. Analyzes gaps within organization and provides appropriate solutions while sharing expertise on critical issues.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations; analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies by applying technical rules or Corptax knowledge to Caterpillar facts.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • US International tax technical expertise for a large outbound corporation especially GILTI Tested Income/Loss Subpart F and dividend distribution ordering
  • Indepth knowledge of Corptax software especially US International functionality
  • Proven ability to manage a team with a focus on coaching and development
  • Demonstrate high levels of initiative good judgment and superior communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and determine prioritization
  • Collaborative and teamoriented personality with the ability to mentor and build and foster relationships throughout the organization
  • Understanding of accounting and business processes
  • Knowledge of M365 and familiarity with PowerBI

Additional Details:

  • This position can be located in Peoria IL or Irving TX
  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify
  • Travel expectation: 510

Summary Pay Range:

$156000.00 $234000.00
