Job Description
Amazon Search creates customerfocused product search solutions and technologies. Whenever a customer visits an Amazon site worldwide and types in a query or browses through product categories our systems go to work. Our Core Search team is responsible for helping customers find relevant products that meet their expectations. Our goal is to make shopping easy and enable customers to shop with confidence.
We are currently seeking a Principal PMT to join our Product Management team and utilize machine learning (AI ML) to enhance the Amazon Search experience. The mission of this role will be to ensure that customers perceive Search as a trusted friend that directly answers their questions assists them in exploring Amazons extensive selection and empowers them to shop with confidence knowing that they have made the right choice.
As the Principal Product Manager Tech for Core Search your role is to create and execute the vision and strategy for the Core Search teams products. Your focus is on delivering excellent shopping experiences for customers by understanding their shopping intents and incorporating relevant features on the search page. The ideal candidate should have experience in a fastpaced environment and a strong bias for action.
You will collaborate with global teams to identify and prioritize needs influence the organization and create highquality search experiences. Your expertise in search engines and recommender systems will be crucial in expanding beyond the current offerings. Success in this role requires a customercentric approach innovative thinking and effective communication.
Key job responsibilities
* Design and lead a multiyear product roadmap balancing short and longterm goals to scale globally
* Define creative high quality and clear roadmaps based on team strategy and vision
* Develop detailed crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create specifications and architecture for search engine features and applications
* Partner with Engineering Science Operations and partner teams to create bestinclass search solutions for customers
* Analyze customer feedback and usage metrics to identify key pain points
* Build innovative concepts and successfully champion them through senior management and other teams
* Manage bottlenecks provide escalation management anticipate and make tradeoffs balance the business needs versus technical constraints and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences
* Roll up sleeves as necessary to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet our high standards of quality
Bachelors degree
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
Experience technical product management
Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
Experience in project management methodologies business analysis or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
