Job Summary
Performs basic catering service duties for Culinary Arts Catering including preparation of food items serving and setup and/or take down of events. Assists Catering Division employees with other tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience: Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one year experience in food service with equipment experience with knife meat slicer dishwasher deep fryer flat top grill convection ovens range and robot coupe food processor are preferred. Must have a current Food Handlers card or must obtain it within 30 days of employment. Current LBCC students are encouraged to apply. Knowledge and Skills: Requires high school level reading writing and arithmetic skills. Requires skills and knowledge of the use of kitchen utensils and equipment. Must have knowledge and understanding of safety and sanitation practices and procedures related to the position and must have strong customer relations skills. Abilities : Must have the ability to independently carry out the duties of the position. Must be able to sufficiently read and comprehend instructions and safety materials. Must understand and follow labels and instructions for using detergents and chemicals used in cleaning. Requires the ability to handle food and related equipment in a manner which meets county health and safety standards. Must be able to safely work around hot surfaces and use kitchen equipment and knives in a manner that is safe for self and others in the area. Requires the ability to receive and carry out written and oral instructions. Must be able to work within a team and promote harmonious working relationships. Must be able to interact with customers in a manner which reflects positively on the department. Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures backgrounds perspectives and abilities.
