POSITION SUMMARY
The Hotel Accountant will be responsible for checking figures postings and documents for accuracy. They will organize secure and maintain all files records cash and cash equivalents in accordance with company policies and procedures. The role involves recording storing accessing and analyzing computerized financial information as well as classifying coding and summarizing numerical and financial data to compile and maintain financial records. Additionally the accountant will prepare maintain audit and distribute statistical financial accounting auditing or payroll reports as required and complete periodend closing procedures and reports according to the specified timetables.
The position requires the preparation review reconciliation and issuance of bills invoices and account statements following company procedures. The accountant will also follow up and resolve pastdue accounts and vendor invoices until payment is received or resolved. They will prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash received by all cash handling employees and document maintain communicate and act upon any cash variances according to SOPs. The role also includes preparing maintaining and administering cashier banks and contracts.
The Hotel Accountant must follow all company policies and procedures maintain a clean and professional appearance and ensure the confidentiality of proprietary information. They are expected to protect company assets and the privacy and security of both guests and coworkers. Clear and professional communication is essential including the preparation and review of written documents and answering telephones with appropriate etiquette. The role requires the ability to move lift carry push pull and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance. The Hotel Accountant should develop and maintain positive working relationships support team goals and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Additionally they will perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience in accounting or finance.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
License or Certification: None
