Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) is looking for an experienced product leader to define product strategy and play a key role in accelerating the adoption of containers and cloud native technologies on AWS.
As part of the Amazon EKS team you will be responsible for imagining designing and building the next generation of application and infrastructure management tools used by some of the largest and most impactful organizations in the world. You will be the voice of the customer within AWS prioritizing development of new products and features defining requirements guiding engineering teams and building gotomarket strategy. This role will be visible at the highest levels of the company and requires coordination across many internal and external teams.
Youll succeed in this role if you are someone who is never satisfied with the status quo motivated to take on challenging problems understand the power of good decisions and are able to easily work with multidisciplinary teams of people. We are looking for someone with a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically; who is excited to take on new ambiguous projects. This position requires a solid technical background and strong communication skills. You should have an established history of customerfocused product development with a passion for distributed systems and cloud technology. Past experience working with containers Kubernetes or developer tooling is a plus but not required.

Key job responsibilities
* Define products by working backwards from the needs of different customer segments / jobstobedone
* Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical
* Establish goals analyze metrics and product usage data to identify new opportunities
* Lead user research to identify new opportunities to innovate on behalf of our customers
* Create the vision product strategy and road map for our products and working with key stakeholders in the company to deliver on that vision e.g. sales partner team international site leaders etc.
* Build the gotomarket plan and work to ensure that sales SAs and the partner teams have what they need to be successful
A day in the life
* Lead customer meetings and roundtables
* Write product requirements for new features
* Whiteboard with product/engineering/UX stakeholders to iterate on user experience
* Define longterm roadmap for products with thousands of customers
* Present multiyear strategy plans to leadership
* Provide feedback on cross org product engineering and business documents
* Perform deep dive analysis on business performance metrics
* Speak at AWS and industry conferences
* Mentor and develop peers attend internal training summits
5 years of technical product management with internet business experience
Experience delivering largescale SaaS PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle from concept through GTM (go to market)
BA degree in computer science engineering analytics mathematics statistics IT or equivalent
3 years of technical (software development network development IT other related) experience
Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies
Masters degree in computer science information systems or business

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $236800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
