Curtis a Rehlko company is looking for a Senior Systems Engineerto join an interdisciplinary team responsible for designing new or revised motor control products. You will oversee the overall product architecture develop product requirements and functional specifications and collaborate with design engineers across various disciplines to implement the design. Your role includes making critical tradeoff decisions clarifying specifications during development writing system test cases and performing system verification testing using vmodel design.

Specific Responsibilities

• Customer Collaboration: Work directly with customers engineers and product management to define product requirements.

• Feature Analysis: Evaluate customer and product management feature requests for motor controllers and vehicle managers to determine feasibility and scope of effort. Participate in project proposal development.

• Compliance Documentation: Analyze and document compliance with market and regulatory requirements. Prepare necessary reports or information to support customers and regulatory agencies.

• System Requirements Development: Consult with subject matter experts to develop and refine system requirements for motor controllers and vehicle managers.

• Functional Specifications: Develop and maintain system functional specifications during development. Recommend changes and ensure all requirements meet operating procedures and acceptance criteria.

• Algorithm Modification: Modify existing algorithms (pseudocode state machines control diagrams etc. to correct errors improve performance and implement new features. Develop simulations or mathematical models as needed.

• Design Reviews: Conduct and participate in concept and design reviews with subject matter experts. Develop and document system test cases that verify or validate the linked requirements. Execute test cases as needed.

• Implementation Guidance: Guide design engineers and group leads in implementing specified features. Review and refine electrical software and mechanical requirements to ensure they meet system requirements. Work with engineers to address issues and find new solutions.

• Root Cause Analysis: Lead and participate in root cause analysis and corrective action plans as required.

• Process Improvement: Explain systems engineering processes to others and make minor improvements.

• Verification Support: Assist the verification team by clarifying specifications and requirements as issues arise during testing.

• Production Testing: Assist test engineering in the initial specification of equipment and procedures for production testing.

• Production Support: Assist manufacturing and test teams in resolving designrelated problems during production.

• Product Support: Assist the product support group in adding features and maintaining functional specifications as the product matures.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a technical field

• At least five years of systems engineering experience

• Minimum of three years of systems engineering experience with embedded control products

• Experience in the development and launch of industrial products in medium volumeper year)

• Strong understanding of electronics software and mechanical design

• Ability to write functional specifications and demonstrate technical leadership

• Knowledge of good engineering practices

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

The salary range for this position is $160000 $ specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience their education and the work location. Available benefits include medical dental vision & 401k.
