Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Flint Assembly on a fulltime basis.
The Role:
The Paint Automation Engineer must beable to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. The selected candidate will need to be skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel material machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. This position requires the selected candidate to be flexible with working hours. This position will be on first shift but will support offshift vacation coverage. The selected candidate MUST be okay with working any shift and overtime as needed.
What Youll Do (Responsibilities):
Development of new processes and pathing for new products and midcycle enhancements.
Process improvements driven by quality data and bench marking improvements.
Assisting in troubleshooting and development of Paint Technical Resources.
Work within process control plans and performance to those plans.
Maintain daily throughput requirements and lead problem solving efforts to address responsiveness issues.
Root cause identification and resolution of process related issues.
Manage business according to General Motors Global Manufacturing System Standards (GMS).

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Ability to work overtime and offshift
3 years of robotics experience
3 years of paint process experience
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work with a high level of independence to execute project deliverables
High level of engineering and problemsolving experience
Fundamental understanding of painting process
Operations level experience in automation cells
Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment problems
Ability to independently drive problems to resolution
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
3 years of robotics experience
3 years of paint process experience
Leadership experience
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
Paint Fanuc Robot experience
Sealer Fanuc Robot experience
Ability to read electrical and mechanical prints
