Apprentice Mechanic Position
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our transportation team as an Apprentice Mechanic. The apprenticeship program is designed to provide comprehensive training as a school bus mechanic allowing the successful candidate to develop practical skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assisting in the diagnosis of mechanical issues in various types of vehicles or machinery
- Helping with repairs and maintenance tasks under the supervision of experienced mechanics
- Learning to use various tools and equipment to perform repairs
- Completing maintenance tasks such as oil changes tire rotations and filter replacements
- Observing safety procedures and guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or injuries
- Participating in training and educational opportunities to improve skills and knowledge
- Keeping the workshop clean and tidy
- Communicating with drivers under supervision to explain repairs and maintenance work
