Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking HighSchool Principals to join our growing school division for theSchool Year! Our Principals provide leadership for school staff in the development implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive educational program and administer the academic programs in accordanceof division goals School Board policies administrative rules and regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides an instructional program consistent with the goals and objectives of the school division
- Exercises leadership for the organization administration and supervision of all curricular and cocurricular programs of the school
- Provides for the continuing development and implementation of an effective instructional program through classroom supervision and instructional leadership
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school and fosters good interpersonal relations among students and staff
- Works with the school staff and community to maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning and appropriate student behavior.
- Supervises and evaluates the performance of each member of the school staff and establishes individual programs for improvement consistent with the divisions staff development program.
- Evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding their individual performance and provides for effective recorded evaluation reports of classified staff according to district procedures.
- Advises the personnel office of staff needs and participates in the recruitment employment assignment promotion transfer nonrenewal and dismissal of licensed and classified personnel.
- Fosters effective homeschool communication by providing opportunities for parents and teachers to discuss student progress and other matters of mutual concern and by encouraging community involvement in school activities.
- Fosters effective schoolcommunity relations by working with advisory groups and community social service agencies and by facilitating community use of the school as established by school board policies.
Education and Experience:
- Masters Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement or provisional endorsement as a Principal
- Five 5 years of successful fulltime teaching experience; two 2 in the level of education for which considered
