Job Description Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will primarily focus on the manufacturing processes within generator manufacturing. Responsible fordepartmental operations ownership over methods planning/ of the generator product line and procurement of necessary tooling. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

Roles and Responsibilities
Act as a manufacturing expert for Generator Winding in GE Vernovas Generator manufacturing operation in Schenectady NY.
Define and control production processes; including tooling and equipment to be used in the winding process.
Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product tools or equipment.
Troubleshoot issues with equipment and processes.
Work with the shop to develop manufacturing methods schedules and documentation for improvements.
Identify and execute projects to improve safety quality existing processes and lower cost within the shop.
Provide documentation and training to shop floor to ensure seamless new product or process .
Utilize indepth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and experience to execute policy/strategy.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market. Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Lead projects in manufacturing engineering operations and lean. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Apply lean methods to equipment and material handling designs to reduce waste throughout the production process.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited university / college OR high school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience in a technical role.
Additional 2 years of manufacturing experience in a technical role.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
Must be able to work 2nd Shift hours 3pm11pm.
This position is 100 onsite at the GE factory in Schenectady NY.
Desired Characteristics
Experience in an industrialized setting with large scale manufacturing and assembly operations.
Experience with mechanical equipment.
Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints design drawings or process specifications.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to document plan market and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
Pay Transparency
The base pay range for this position is $90400.00 $120400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10 variable incentive compensation.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110 120 or 130 of salary in certain areas.
