Job Description
As a Technical Director for Creator Collaboration at Roblox you will define and lead the technical vision for how creators build together on our platform. This role is central to enabling realtime largescale and highperformance codevelopment experiences within Roblox Studioour stateoftheart cloudbased IDE designed for seamless collaboration.
You will spearhead initiatives that drive the scalability responsiveness and user experience of tools like Team Create our flagship realtime collaboration product. Your work will directly empower creatorsfrom hobbyists to professional studiosto innovate and build together efficiently and enjoyably.

You Will:
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for collaboration features across Robloxs creator tools.
- Lead by example as a handson individual contributor while setting architectural and engineering standards.
- Write and review technical specifications for new features and improvements.
- Partner closely with engineering product and design teams to deliver seamless intuitive collaboration experiences.
- Become an expert in Robloxs proprietary technology stack and ensure that all development aligns with longterm goals and best practices.
- Explore and evaluate emerging technologies balancing innovation with .
- Represent Roblox in relevant industry forums and communities acting as a technical ambassador for our platform.
You Are:
- Experienced: You bring 12 years of experience building highimpact consumerfacing applications at scale. You have a proven ability to design and deliver robust backend infrastructure as well as userfacing features. A BS in Computer Science or related field is required; MS/PhD is a strong plus.
- A Technical Leader: Youve successfully led complex technical initiatives across multiple teams or organizations. You are adept at building consensus mentoring others and communicating effectively with executive stakeholders.
- UserCentric: You prioritize the needs of end userswhether they are game developers using Roblox Studio or internal engineering teamsensuring your solutions are both technically sound and practically impactful.
- Versatile: Youre highly adaptable and fluent in multiple programming languages and technologies. Youre comfortable navigating unfamiliar territory and solving new problems handson.
- Deeply Knowledgeable: You understand the architecture of modern largescale systems. You have expertise in frontend frameworks performance optimization and infrastructure design and can lead teams through complex technical tradeoffs.
- Creative and Strategic: You approach challenges with curiosity and creativity. You simplify complexity and bring fresh innovative ideas to the table.
