Student Information System Specialist Unclassified
MAJOR FUNCTION: The position holder is responsible for managing user accounts academic calendars and online
enrollment within the eSchool platform while also providing training and technical support to staff members. The
position holder ensures data accuracy for PA Secure ID and maintains compliance with PIMS by processing and
updating student information and assessment results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Employee must have the ability to perform the following essential functions on a timely
basis with or without reasonable accommodations.
1. Oversee the management and upkeep of user accounts within the eSchool platform.
2. Collaborate with Pupil Services to facilitate and support online student enrollment.
3. Maintain and update academic and district calendars within eSchool.
4. Provide training and onboarding support for new staff members on the effective use of
eSchool.
5. Generate and distribute comprehensive reports for all school buildings to support
accurate data rollover for the upcoming academic year.
6. Prepare and share transportationspecific reports to aid in a smooth and accurate data
transition for the new school year.
7. Monitor the Parent Portal support email to assist parents and guardians with Home
Access Center (HAC) inquiries and technical support.
8. Assist the Manager of Data and Information to enter and process information into the
Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS).
9. Maintain the eSchool system according to PIMS guidelines.
10. Process and disseminate information to school personnel to meet PIMS guidelines.
11. Assist the Manager of Data and Information to enter and update NWEA AIMSWEB and
other assessment results into Performance Plus.
12. Maintain accurate data in the PA Portal for PA Secure ID.
13. Maintain instructional and eSchool databases in accordance with PIMS.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: In addition to the foregoing essential job functions the employee is required to perform
the following additional duties unless such a duty cannot be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

QUALIFICATIONS: To successfully perform this position a person must be able to perform each primary duty
satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement training
skills and/or ability necessary.
1. Extensive expertise in the eSchool Student Information System.
2. Proficient in IBM Cognos including the creation editing and of reports.
3. Proficient in EXCEL including filtering sorting and text edit.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
5. Ability to use computer programs with minimal supervision.
6. Ability to organize and prioritize assignments.
7. Ability to get work done accurately quickly and efficiently.
8. Attention to detail and completeness.
9. Good team approach and service orientation.
10. Must be able to meet the physical/sensory demands of the position.

A. While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to maintain a stationary position and move
about to access file cabinets office equipment etc.
B. The employee is frequently required to communicate to provide accurate information to others and to obtain

C. The position requires the employee to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment such as a copy
machine fax and printer.
