Position Summary:
This is a Registered Nurse (RN) delegated position (Nurse Practice Act RCW 28A.210.260 and 28A.210.280. The Health Room Assistant (HRA) will work directly under the license of the RN. The HRAs primary responsibility is assisting the RN in implementing school health services. The HRA receives direct and indirect supervision and delegation from the building RN regarding health care issues (Nurse Practice Act RCW 18.79 and 18.130 WAC 246840 and receives direction from the building principal on issues other than health. Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is confined to a work area; required to have precise control of fingers and hand movements; experiences constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines; and must be able to stoop crouch crawl bend kneel stand for periods of time and lift in order to assist a student with personal care. The employee is required to deal with distraught and/or angry persons and is exposed to infectious diseases carried by children. The noise level in the work environment is acceptable to this particular environment and can vary depending upon daily activity but will remain within acceptable ranges.
Evaluation:
This position shall be evaluated annually by the Building Principal on building issues and by the RN (RCW 18.79.0401 and 18.79.2602 on health related issues pursuant to the currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria.
