Job Description
TheVCUSchoolof Nursing is recruiting a pool of applicants for adjunct teaching limited adjunct appointment will be offered on a semesterbysemesterbasis and is subject to renewal. The purpose of the position is for qualifiedindividuals to teach in graduate areas in their area of expertise includeevidencebased strategies in teaching and clinical activities and contributeto evaluation and ongoing program development through timely feedback andadherence to evaluation mechanisms for the program.
This pool will be accessed only as adjunctvacancies arise. Your application will remain active for one year from thisposition posting date. After one year if you are still interested in adjunctteaching you must reapply to the posting. Note that we are unable to hireapplicants who are not in the pool.
Required Qualifications:
DoctoralDegree in nursing or related field
Licensed as a Registered Nurse inVirginia
Experience in a practice role
Evidence of effectiveness in collaboration andcommunication
Authorization to prescribe required for somepositions related to advanced practice nursing.
Licensedin Virginia as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner required for teaching in relatedadvanced practice courses.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect professionalism and civility with a population of faculty staff and students from various backgrounds and experiences or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in teaching at the baccalaureate or higher level
Experience with simulation instruction
Certification in an area of specialty in nursing
