Job Description Summary
This Lead Product Definition Engineer job is for executing Heavy Duty New Unit Piping product definition which involves creation of new CAD models altering existing models to suit project requirements pipe routing creation of new drawings revision of existing drawings creation of new Bill of Material revising of existing Bill of Material. The four skills are essential for this job 3D modeling skills using NX (Unigraphics) or similar tools understanding of piping components and routing of daytoday task using PLM or similar tool and using Change Management process and ability to review piping models drawings and bill of material.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Executing PDE scope for Gas Steam and Generator Accessories to deliver 3D piping designs and skids arrangement drawings Bills of materials with immaculate quality and adhering to timelines
- Should possess knowledge of piping support detailing and welding.
- Ability to interpret Schematics/P&ID.
- Ensure all interface and interference characteristics between components are established and agreed upon by the designers of interfacing system
- Proactively and effectively communicate progress status risk needed inputs and target release dates to stakeholders.
- Participate in weekly scrum meetings with Engineering counter parts to plan for fourweek look ahead and work with prioritization
- Follow Daily management rigor within the team to ensure timely delivery of tasks
- Apply Lean principles in daily management and strive for continuous improvement
- Ensure quality of PDE deliverables by following Peer check rigor
- Utilize applicable PLM system (Enovia) to manage and issue product definition data.
- Follow concurrent Engineering processes understand input from the different engineering disciplines monitor progress and quality and ensure schedule requirements are met.
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations to internal and external GE customers through analysis preparation and presentation of technical PDE data.
- Provide design support to crossfunctional teams to improve or resolve design performance manufacturing supplier or field issues..
- Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures Engineering Standards Design Customer Operating Procedures Specifications Government and Commercial Standards and special security requirements.
- Contribute in fulfilling organizational KPIs and Initiatives
- Demonstrated ability in managing several projects across functions (New Product Introduction New Units Services Cost Out etc. ensuring Ontime Delivery with high quality and onbudget.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership experience.

- Strong team player with the ability to effectively work under pressure.
- Focus on ownership accountability and sense of urgency
- Experience driving Drawing Model Based Product Definition initiatives
- CAD expertise with NX(Unigraphics) E3D with Piping /electrical modules
- PLM expertise with ENOVIA
- Leadership to pursue correct engineering process in adverse conditions
- Experience of reviewing piping models drawings and bill of material
- Experience of guiding mentoring and training product definition engineers.
Eligibility
Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Production engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 710 yrs of experience in a similar role.
