Program Operations
- Meet or exceed the standards for the safety security hygiene and emotional welfare of participants that may normally be expected of a firm and judicious parent.
- Supervise trainees during offsite activities.
- Enforce SOPs and protocols for camp areas.
- Monitor wakeup and lightsout procedures to ensure that trainees are following policy in an effective efficient and timely manner.
- Assist other departments in a timely effective and efficient manner as duties relate to the Camp programs.
- Fulfill any roles as assigned based on Space Camp needs.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assume responsibility for teams as required.
- Limited assistance in the discipline of trainees.
- Assist with registration and graduation.
- Monitor daily program activities. Conduct briefings as required.
- Assist in addressing concerns brought by parents trainees and counselors.
- Assist with training of new crew trainers.
- Assist with the enhancement/development of Camp programs.
- Assist Sick Bay Staff with locating trainees who have missed scheduled medicines.
- Assist security with moving trainees to designated locations under the threat of severe weather and other emergencies.
- Assist museum staff personnel as needed.
- Assist Trainee Services with the delivery of messages and mail.
- Assist habitat staff in maintaining the cleanliness of trainees rooms counselor facilities and common areas.
- Assist program managers with the coordination of pictures and video vendors.
- Coordinate materials supplies and equipment to ensure that Aerospace Programs have adequate supplies necessary to conduct daily operations.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
- Minimum of 30 college credit hours with previous supervisory experience.
Required Experience
- OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with trainees and counselors.
- Must be organized professional and actionoriented.
- Must have the ability and patience to interact with people of all ages from children to adults.
- Work Experience: 2 seasons as a Crew Trainer preferred.
- Must have a valid Drivers License.
Physical Requirements
This position has the following special requirements:
- Walking climbing (stairs) to access other departments and buildings and to experience all areas of the training center floor and museum.
- Swimming to engage in the activities portion of camp programs.
- Standing for long periods 46 hours) directing counselors and trainees conducting lectures and operating simulators.
- Pushing carrying lifting boxes supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds to waist height.
- Bending kneeling reaching to store/retrieve supplies.
- Sight reading wrist movements feeling to operate simulators review schedules and write reports.
- Talking hearing to instruct counselors and trainees and assisting guests in person and over the telephone.
- This position will involve walking to/from buildings in various weather conditions.
- This position deals extensively with employees and guests who interact with assigned areas of responsibility.
- This position interacts extensively with small children and adults. This position will require the knowledge to effectively and efficiently operate all simulators designated by management.
