Job Description
Position Title: Electrician
Pay Range: $23.00$30.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Position Purpose:
Performs skilled Electrical work. This is a seasonal/temporary position not to exceed 122 daysthat will be scheduledfulltime hours.
Pre/Post Fair Schedule:MondayThursday 7 am to 3:30 pm; Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. May be asked to work Saturday or Sunday.
Fair Schedule:
(Day):Wednesday through Sunday 7:00am 3:30pm.
(SWING):Wednesday through Sunday3:30PM 12:00AM.
Schedule subject to change based on business needs.
Essential Functions:
- Installs a variety of electrical equipment and fixtures for buildings and mechanical projects including generators transformers switchboards and lighting control systems.
- Installs and removes temporary electrical for events.
- Maintains electrical equipment and fixtures to ensure proper and safe working conditions.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electrical equipment and fixtures as needed throughout buildings and facilities.
- Uses test instruments such as ammeters and voltmeters.
- Operates heavy equipment such as forklift manlift scissors lift etc.
- Applies National Electrical Code (NEC) to all installations.
- Orders maintains and stores electrical supplies and equipment.
- Maintains the facilitys Energy Management System.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid California drivers license to operate a utility cart and other equipment.
- At least 3 years of experience as an Electrician.
- Experience in safely operating heavy equipment such as forklift manlift scissors lift etc.
- Must be familiar with common safety rules and practices required in the electrical profession including National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
- Good customer service skills and the ability to work well with others a must.
- Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
- Must be available to work 5 days per week on either morning or swing shift between midJuly and midAugust.
Preferences:
- Familiarity with the layout and facilities of the OC Fair & Event Center

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk stand talk and hear. The employee must frequently use hands and fingers to operate handle or feel objects tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper bending and lifting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
Will work in a fastpaced indoor and outdoor environment in all types of weather. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud however louder noise levels may be experienced during outdoor events and when in larger event buildings.
