Job Description

PCBA Engineer
Overview
The PCBA Engineer plays a crucial role in the design development and production of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs) within an organization. This position combines technical expertise with creative problemsolving skills to ensure highquality electronic components are produced efficiently and effectively. The PCBA Engineer is responsible for collaborating with crossfunctional teams to refine specifications and finalize designs ensuring that product performance meets customer and industry standards. With a deep understanding of circuit design fabrication and assembly processes this role is critical to driving product quality while optimizing timetomarket for new technologies. The PCBA Engineer also supports the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and assists in the debugging of prototypes making this role vital for innovation within our technologycentered environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop PCB layouts and schematics according to specifications.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to specify boardlevel requirements.
  • Verify and validate designs through simulation tools and prototyping.
  • Manage and lead PCB assembly projects from concept to production.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation for fabrication and assembly.
  • Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting for existing PCBAs.
  • Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) best practices.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure components meet technical specifications.
  • Perform testing and evaluation of prototypes capturing performance metrics.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to optimize assembly line processes.
  • Develop and conduct PCB quality assurance tests.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action plans to address quality issues.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of industry standards and practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians in PCB design and fabrication techniques.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in PCB design and assembly.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as Altium Eagle or similar.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components and their functionalities.
  • Handson experience with PCB testing and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IPCA610.
  • Experience in coordinating with crossfunctional teams.
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes for PCB manufacturing.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fastpaced environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing ERP systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Compliance (RoHS REACH) is preferred.
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest technologies in the field.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
