A professional services organization is seeking to hire a Payroll Tax Manager. This position will mainly involve owning the payroll tax processes for the organization. Additionally you will be utilizing ADP EV6 and ADP SmartCompliance for payroll tax. Looking for someone who has 5 years of experience in a large company environment owning the payroll tax processes has experience running payroll for a 3000 employee organization and can go into Boston on a hybrid basis 3 days per week).
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire payroll process ensuring timely and accurate payroll disbursement for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations regarding payroll practices and reporting.
- Prepare and review financial reports related to payroll including regulatory reporting and general ledger accounting entries.
- Collaborate with HR to maintain employee records and ensure proper classification of employees for tax purposes.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Provide technical accounting support related to payroll issues including estate planning and securities law considerations.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency within the department.
- Assist in financial report writing and interpretation for management review.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or a similar role with a focus on payroll management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles regulatory reporting requirements and general ledger accounting practices.
- Familiarity with technical accounting issues including securities law and estate planning is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
- Proficient in payroll software systems and Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel.
