The student life program is essential to the fulfilment of CWA s mission values and educational philosophy.
The Dean of student life role provides leadership in maintaining a safe secure healthy and positive living
environment in line with CWA child protection policy and local authorities regulations that enhances
students development both academically and personally. As part of CWA leadership team the post holder
works closely with Academics team to improve students retention parents satisfaction and school
objectives achievement.
Dean of student life actively communicates with all stake holders the promotion of CWA residential
learning. He/she is in charge of G7G12 Boarding and pastoral program including Boarding heads
Student life office Homeroom and advisory program Sports Clubs & activities psychological counseling
as well as health center.
He/she will liaise closely with the Dean of Academics Pugao division as well as all admin functional
leaders(Branding Marketing and Admission HR Operations IT Finance. to ensure the efficient
and dynamic delivery of G7G12 residential program.

Main duties and responsibilities
1. CWA Culture & Values
To live CWA values foster CWA ethos align CWA objectives policies and procedures as
one school.
Work with the Chinese Principal to implement the vision of CWA Fostering "ONE SCHOOL
ONE CULTURE" by enhancing G7G12 Students boarding and pastoral program.
Enhance CWA Identity.
2. Overall leadership in student life:
Work closely with the Chinese Principal to design and deliver residential health and well
being education program in alignment with CWA identity.
Provide leadership and supervision to the Student Life staff including Boarding Head
Student Life Officer Ayi Psychological Counselor and School Nurse. Lead regular
department meetings.
Oversee performance monitoring reporting and professional development for all direct
reports.
Development of homeroom and advisor team: Update the work framework and workload of
Homeroom and advisor teachers. Provide necessary training and support to Homeroom and
advisory teachers to enhance their effectiveness.
3. Residential and Pastoral care:
Responsible for crisis response and risk management in residential life including developing
and implementing emergency protocols. Conduct regular security check and program risk
analysis.
Act as the designated safeguarding lead taking responsibility for all child protection issues
at CWA.
Develop and enforce the CWA students Code of Conduct to promote positive behaviors and
student development.
Oversee disciplinerelated process and procedures. (e.g. Manage extreme student cases
such as bullying extreme behaviors or conflicts with teachers.
Organize and manage the provision of care and support services including socialemotional
counseling and physical health services.
Lead the student life team to ensure the effective daytoday management and operation of
the residential areas of CWA.
Monitoring and evaluation of students residential and pastoral program keep continuous
improvement.
Design and Oversee weekend program and keep continuous improvement for high quality
weekend program.
4. Studentrelated Activities (ECA/Clubs Sports Teams and Tournaments)
Oversee and organize whole school events (e.g. new students registration CWA DAY
graduation ceremony) and regular whole school assemblies.
Oversee academic competitions for students.
Coordinate all afterschool activities and ECA.
Oversee the sports center sports teams and tournament for students across G7 to G12.
Ensure the effective organization of external sports leagues and competitions.
5. ParentsSchool Relationship
Parents Communication: Actively engage in communicating with parents across all grades
gaining their trust and support and aiming for zero complaints.
Improve parents satisfaction level and improve students retention.
Communicate with parents regarding serious concerns related to student behavior and
welfare.
6. Government Compliance
Coordinate with government authorities to prepare necessary documentation and facilitate
inspections and audits as required.
Manage student enrollment (Xue Ji) in compliance with government regulations ensuring
students meet requirements for Zhong Kao and high school admission.
Participate in governmentorganized activities sharing sessions and competitions (e.g.
KunCheng pastoral group).
7. Branding Marketing& Admissions
Marketing & Admissions: Actively participate in Marketing activities to enhance CWA
branding. Work closely with the Marketing & Admissions to support students admission and
selection.
8. Finance
Closely Monitor the yearly student life budget Implementing controls over spending and
procurement.
Regular review of the budget and make proposals to the Chinese Principal for achieving
financial balance and sustainability.
As part of CWA leadership team the Dean of Student life may be delegated other responsibilities
by the Chinese Principal.
