Job Description
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee the full operations of a wellestablished luxury safari tours company based in Botswana. This role requires a visionary leader with a passion for sustainable tourism a sharp business mind and strong leadership skills to drive company growth and maintain operational excellence across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Responsibility:
Ensure compliance with all local regulations and maintain a strong reputation within the community
Promote staff welfare development and team engagement
Uphold ethical business practices across the company
Financial Accountability:
Oversee all financial operations and reporting
Ensure ongoing profitability and sustainable growth
Minimize operational losses and financial risks
Maintain accurate financial records in line with accounting standards
Ensure timely payments and regulatory submissions
Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts
Company Growth & Development:
Collaborate with Reservations and Marketing Heads to drive business growth
Actively manage yield and analyze business performance
Negotiate supplier rates and optimize agent partnerships
Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities
Continuously evaluate and improve company competitiveness
Foster team development opportunities to grow internal talent
Systems & Standards Optimization:
Implement and maintain companywide operational standards
Monitor and enhance the use and effectiveness of systems
Collaborate with HODs and Camp Managers to maintain high service standards
Encourage workplace efficiency and employee input for system improvements
Product Management:
Be actively involved in all operational and guestfacing aspects of the business
Maintain a handson approach to fully understand operational workflows
Ensure that all products services and itineraries are of the highest standard and operationally feasible
Collaborate with teams to consistently enhance the guest experience
Candidate Requirements:
Proven leadership experience in tourism hospitality or safari operations
Strong financial acumen and business development experience
Strategic thinker with the ability to manage both highlevel planning and daytoday operations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Handson management style with a commitment to staff mentorship and guest satisfaction
Passion for conservation sustainability and luxury travel
