Job Description

Epworth HealthCare is seeking an experienced and motivated Grade 2 Occupational Therapist to join our Acute Allied Health team at Epworth Richmond. This permanent fulltime or parttime position offers the opportunity to work primarily within the acute medical and oncology wards with the flexibility to provide support across other clinical areas as required.

As a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist you will play a key role in delivering highquality patientcentred care within a multidisciplinary team. You will also contribute to the supervision and professional development of junior staff and students actively participate in quality improvement initiatives and engage in ongoing professional learning. This role reports to the Occupational Therapy Team Leader and forms part of the broader Allied Health service.

You will make an impact by:

  • Working closely alongside the interdisciplinary team on the ward/s
  • Providing clinical care based on best available evidence
  • Having welldeveloped organisational and planning skills
  • Being able to interact and collaborate with all members of a multidisciplinary team

To be successful in this role you:

  • Will have acute experience in assessing and evaluating patients needs to develop individualised treatment plans in the medical and oncology population
  • Skills in implementing therapeutic interventions to improve patients functional abilities and quality of life
  • Be able to collaborate with doctors nurses and other healthcare professional to ensure comprehensive patient care and discharge planning
  • Be responsible for education of patients and their families on managing conditions and achieving therapy goals
  • Will maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes

Qualifications :

  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Occupational Therapist registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
