Seeking a skilled Accounting Assistant who can work in a team environment provide superior and timely support to the Accounting department. The Accounting Assistant will thrive in a fast pace and deadline driven work environment. The candidate must have a professional demeanor to support collaboration.
This is a fulltime nonexempt position in which work is performed under general supervision and will report directly to the Accounting Manager. This position will be responsible for monitoring uncompleted timecards supporting accounts payable with various tasks completing various monthend closing assignments and other tasks as assigned. The candidate must have excellent communication and organizational skills be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines and be able to work in a teamoriented environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Responsible for completing bank reconciliations
- Follows up with suppliers that have outstanding payments
- Preparing accounting adjustments for banking transactions.
- Weekly credit card reconciliations.
- Reconciles shipping invoices for payment processing and posts adjusting accounting entries.
- Contacts suppliers for information updates and reminders including addresses electronic invoice remittances missing invoices and account statements.
- Processing assigned accounts payable invoices.
- Reviews timecards every Monday morning for labor postings reaches out to employees with timecard errors for correction and to managers on missing timecard approvals
- Reviews a portion of expense reports for accuracy and correctness against established policies
- Primary person responsible for scanning and filing accounting documents
- Collects and uploads supplier W9s to ERP.
- Collects and uploads contractor and/or consultant certificates of insurance
- Scans names and files packing slips.
- Supports monthend and yearend close tasks.
- Make copies of documents as requested
- Supports accounts payable function as needed.
Qualifications :
- Associates degree in Accounting or Business plus one year of experience or High school diploma or GED plus three years of experience in accounting roles
- General knowledge of accounting processes including accounting reconciliations.
- Basic Outlook Word and Excel skills.
- Knowledge of office methods and processes
- Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to meet productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to establish good rapport with other employees.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and promptly responds to management direction.
- Ability to proofread a variety of documents and to pay attention to detail.

Additional Information :
Compensation: Base pay range is $20$23 per hour depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical dental and vision insurance plans along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary employees are eligible for a yearend bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave such as vacation sick bereavement and FMLA. There is potential for a remote hybrid work schedule once training is complete.
