Job Description
We are seeking a detailoriented and efficient Steward to join our team in Jeddah Saudi Arabia. As a Steward you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our food and beverage areas ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for both staff and guests.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas dining rooms and food service equipment according to established standards and procedures
- Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Collect and dispose of trash and recyclable materials following company guidelines
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of buffets and dining areas
- Maintain cleanliness of dish rooms storage areas and other backofhouse spaces
- Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure proper cleaning of dishes utensils and kitchen tools
- Support the culinary team by restocking clean dishes glassware and utensils
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor
- Assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies and materials
- Participate in deep cleaning projects as scheduled
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience as a Steward or in a similar role in the hospitality industry (preferred)
- Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitization techniques for food service areas
- Familiarity with food and beverage equipment and materials
- Understanding of food safety principles and hygiene standards
- Proficiency in using chemical cleaning products safely and effectively
- Experience with proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office and internet use
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Food safety certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations in Jeddah Saudi Arabia (preferred)
- Ability to communicate in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
