Purpose
Provide a focal point for existing and new products that will be manufactured for AbbVie under contract by Third Party Manufacturers (TPM). Establish effective communication and working relationships with the Third Party Legal Science & Technology R&D Materials Management & Logistics Marketing QA Regulatory AbbVie Manufacturing Plants and Program Management to ensure proper supply of materials from the TPM to support AbbVie products. Provide leadership for the accounts assigned: compliance regulatory updates capacity planning cost reductions and control delivery performance and contract management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary contact between AbbVie and Third Party Manufacturer. Must travel to TPM sites and establish meaningful working relationships and understanding of the TPMs capabilities and/or needs.
- Interface with Operations Pipeline teams to ensure that all TPMs are supplying key intermediates and drug linkers to AbbVie sites and other biologic TPMs.
- Ensure that contract commitments are being fulfilled by both parties and resolve when they are not. Involve the appropriate AbbVie resources when issues need to be resolved.
- Build solid relationships with first tier TPMs and drug linker TPMs to monitor manufacturing performance weekly through the application appropriate performance metrics and campaign (pre/post) reviews.
- Assure that strategic objectives can be met through TPM capacity analysis versus LRP forecasts. Highlight concerns to required organizations proactively.
- Identify potential opportunities to insource or outsource other products to maximize the benefit to AbbVie. Identify areas of potential consolidation amongst TPMs.
- Identify opportunities for yield optimization and/or capacity expansion as needed. Develop and maintain expertise on the assigned category and TPM landscape.
- Serve on crossfunctional teams to negotiate new contracts or revisions with the Third Parties. Assure performance metrics are clearly established and included in the terms of the contract. Assure that contracts are aligned with strategic business objectives.
- Maintain Third Party Contract information. Track key dates and milestones and assure they are met or executed.
- Identify TPMs for new and existing products. Support new product launches and transfers. Provide key forecasting information to the TPMs and assure that the launch plans can be met.
- Proactively work with TPMs to ensure work processes and standards align to deliver product in accordance with AbbVie quality expectations.
- Informing various internal stakeholders of TPM performance highlighting issues actions and ongoing improvements to increase performance at TPMs that impact downstream operations.
- Represent Manufacturing as required with internal Brand Teams related to all aspects of the manufacturing process with specific TPMs.
- Through internal and external partnership build a performance improvement culture at TPMs and lead these identified programs to deliver bottomline savings to AbbVie.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree required in a science/engineering discipline with further technical and/or business qualification strongly preferred.
- 10 years experience: operational and/or technical expertise in API ADC or drug product manufacturing in a GMP Pharmaceutical environment. Previous account program or technical transfer management expertise is a must. Proven relationship management and influencing skills a must.
- Previous experience of continuous improvement or operational excellence an advantage.
- Business acumen coupled with functional leadership experience is required to ensure effectiveness and high performance in a complex operation.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
