Job Description

We have openings for a new Bridge to College Student Internship program taking place in Summer 2025 with approximate dates of June 16August 8 2025. Our openings are for students who have just graduated high school and will be entering a twoyear community college or 4year undergraduate program as fulltime students in Fall 2025. Students will be given the opportunity to engage in practical research to further their educational goals. The selected interns will provide technical and/or research support to projects in the areas of engineering polymer chemistry 3D printing or other related fields.

In this position you will

  • Provide technical and/or research support to projects in the areas of engineering polymer chemistry 3D printing or other related fields working with scientists engineers and technical staff members.
  • Participate in research in assigned area under close supervision.
  • Gather and analyze data and information in support of scientific research.
  • Participate in research planning and evaluation discussion.
  • Attend relevant onsite seminars.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).  See Additional Information section below for details.
  • Must be a new community college or university student in Fall 2025 at an accredited institution pursuing a degree in engineering chemistry or other related science fields.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills.
  • Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas.
  • Experience working with personal computers and familiarity with Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the internship.
  • Must have GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience with a national laboratory high school workshop or program.
