Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Conduct on track inspection of horses prior to during and after a race to visually appraiser the fitness and soundness of a horse to insure the safety of the animal and the rider
- Enter information noted into Equine Injury Database for each horse observed prior to racing vet scratches and horsed prohibited from participating until further examination. Prepare death reports and maintain records of veterinary treatments.
- Inspect horses racing during the day by visually appraising the soundness of a horse to insure the safety of the animal and the rider
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: 23 years of experience in equine veterinary practice preferably in a racetrack setting
