The Philanthropy Officer III will manage and be responsible for driving the overall performance of a portfolio of annual giving prospects for the Silicon Valley Market Area. Collaborate with the local philanthropy team physicians senior leaders and philanthropy leadership to identify cultivate steward and solicit donors and prospects with a focus on donor retention and acquisition. Also manage a portfolio of physician philanthropy partners with the goal of educating physician partners to engage and support philanthropy at Sutter Health. Expected to achieve revenue and cost of funds goals through prudent budget management and active revenuebased strategies to fully engage the community in supporting the mission of Sutter Health.Job Description:
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
Bachelors
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
5 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Travel throughout the region required occasional evening and weekend work and ability to adjust to other needs of the department.
- Strong interpersonal skills selfconfident diplomatic collaborative team player strategic good judgment with utmost respect for confidentiality.
- Ability to represent Philanthropy to external audiences through the use of strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to prioritize in a highly complex and fastmoving environment.
- Able to keep the larger vision in mind even while working with a team to support the smallest details.
- The ability to engender trust with a wide range of people will be crucial as will confidentiality and finesse in what is a hightouch stewardshiporiented role.
- Proven track record of developing and advancing significant private philanthropic support.
- Indepth knowledge of the local service area and its constituency culture and philanthropic practices.
- Documented success personally implementing sophisticated multiyear cultivation strategies that use a relationshipbuilding and moves management approach leading to successful closure of major gifts.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to diplomatically and effectively communicate in person writing and by phone.
- Ability to work independently and also within a complex structure and evolving team.
- Collaborative problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities.
- Teamoriented thinker and strategist able to effectively respond to complicated situations involving numerous and sometimes competing organizational constituencies.
- A dynamic personality who will be a strong advocate for Philanthropy in the community.
- Ability to prepare written communication on fundraising programs.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties. Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects.
- Adept at navigating complex environment with evolving priorities and communication plans.
- Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of information systems to support fundraising activities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel.

Pay Range is $50.93 to $76.39 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidates experience education skills licensure and certifications department equity training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
