About You
As an Emergency Shift Lead youll provide guidance and direction to our veterinary assistants and veterinary technicians during shifts. The Shift Lead oversees daily Emergency Department operations related to all direct patient care ensuring quality care at every step of the patient visit. Represent our core values in all interactions with team members patients and clients.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Veterinary technician licensure encouraged to apply (LVT/RVT/CVT)
  • Has a minimum of 3 years experience as an emergency veterinary technician
  • Has strong leadership skills (judgment logic creativity conflict resolution)
  • Strong anesthesia monitoring skills required
  • Possesses strong technical skills (Phlebotomy experience required)
  • Is selfmotivated
  • Has excellent people skills (Ethical diplomatic courteous professional)
  • Is detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to multitask and adjust and learn in a fastpaced environment
  • Are energetic: TEAM players with great communication skills
  • Able to fully use their technical skills as well as learn from new experiences
  • Provide input and assist with all aspects of patient care.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Ensure endofshift duties are completed.
  • Complete weekly staff assignments.
  • Attend regular leadership and department meetings to collaborate with other management on improving and developing yourself and your team.
  • Ensure proper dissemination of information to your team.
  • Monitor and regularly report on department performance; proactively identify opportunities to enhance service quality and effectively utilize our resources.
  • Assist the leadership team in creating implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure shift huddles and case rounding are conducted to prepare your team for the day.
  • Provide guidance and counseling to staff as needed during your shift.
  • Promote a positive attitude among staff and demonstrate commitment to the mission.
  • Regular attendance punctuality and flexibility in scheduling are required.
  • Coordinate work efficiently in a fastpaced emergency department.
  • Embrace the hospitals mission and goals; show a sincere interest in advancing our objectives and supporting your team.
