Job Description

Job Opportunity: Columbus Ohio

Our client is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Associate to join their team. Our client is a manufacturing company that specializes in steel and metal fabrication for both prototypes and mass production. Their expertise spans a variety of processes including stamping laser machining and assembly for industries such as automotive masstransit railcar and motorsports.

The Shipping and Receiving Associate will be responsible for lifting transporting storing and loading materials and products by use of cranes hoists or forklifts. Also supports the administration of incoming and outgoing parcels.


Job Requirements/Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
1 years experience in Shipping and Receiving.
Previous experience in a warehouse retail or similar environment.
Knowledge of MRP email spreadsheet and word processing software.
Ability to effectively operate within and navigate electronic databases and data entry systems.
Ability to regularly lift between 50100lbs.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Compares identifying information and counts weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading invoices orders or other records.
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
Prepares bills of lading.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Inserts items into containers.
Confers with supervisors of other departments to coordinate flow of materials or products.
Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
Requisitions containers and other supplies for delivery to work stations.
Verifies or prepares records such as routing slips material requisitions and job orders.

Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
