Leffler Consulting is seeking an experienced Space Systems Engineer to join our team in Chantilly VA. The position focuses on the resource planning analysis and of large space development acquisition and operation programs in support of the Agency Program Office Directorate and staff components.
One of our clients in Chantilly VA needs a Space Systems Engineer for a permanent position.
- Position: Space Systems Engineer
- Location: Chantilly VA
- Clearance: Top Secret/SCI w/ CI polygraph
Duties:
- Manage and develop requirements from higherlevel Enterprise governing documents to the Segment level and lower
- Support relevant specification development and test planning activities across the enterprise and with development contractors
- Lead coordination and completion of segment specification selloff along with other verification and validation activities
- Coordinate across the Systems Program Office (SPO) for any proposed specification changes and facilitate integration of changes into the baseline
- Leverage a variety of software tools including DOORs and perform analyses and automation of tasks
- Support customer design review providing technical insight to evaluate developers design
- Lead integration of new capabilities to the program baseline
- Manage external interface definition and coordination of changes with external stakeholders and developers
- Provide technical insight into evaluations of developer proposals
- Support customers in CONOPs development
- Support initialization onorbit calibration and validation activities
- Support ground site integration and test activities
- Liaise with mission analysis and acquisition teams to ensure completeness across the program
- Develop productive relationships with development contractor counterparts functional counterparts and other spacecraft payload and ground subject matter experts
Required Qualification:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM (science technical engineering math) or related discipline
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience including MBSE (ModelBased System Engineering)
- Basic understanding of DOD/IC satellite systems and architectures
- Solid understanding of DoD/IC acquisition and program management processes
- Experience in multiple aspects of the program systems engineering life cycle to aid the customers SPO in the acquisition verification and validation and initialization of current programs
