At Zalando pricing systems are a core element of our commercial operation. We are in charge of price optimization across several business cases such as stock optimisation competitive pricing price display and pricing stratification for various product groups.
This requires a combination of state of the art forecasting and optimization tools as well as keen understanding of the underlying business logic and a deeply data driven approach.
As Senior Product Manager Pricing Platform you will work with engineering operations research and machine learning teams to build sophisticated competitive pricing products that drive our pricing decisions. In an agile development process you will understand stakeholder needs work with the engineering and operations research teams to come up with solutions drive delivery and prioritise development. Ultimately youre the one responsible for delivering the right product even if that means challenging existing processes and setups. As the key interface between Business Engineering and Data Science your decisions will impact the millions of Zalando shoppers and the daily prices they see on our platform having a direct and measurable impact on the bottom line of our business.
Where your expertise is needed
Create and deliver against a longterm vision identify and prioritize problems and solutions build factbased business cases
Help building the strategic backbone for our pricing tools and drive change across the organisation where necessary
Lead the delivery with engineering operations research and data science teams in an agile development process
What Were Looking For
Product management experience on a lead/principal level owning a longterm vision and roadmap using a datadriven approach to identify problems and guide the implementation of solutions in line with the vision
Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand analyze and clearly communicate business problems and priorities to engineering teams and business stakeholders
Very good understanding of econometrics math and statistics as well as Python/SQL skills
Experience in operations research data science or machine learning
Preferred university degree in economics or a science related field
