Bungehas an exciting opportunity for aEngineering and Construction Manager Renewable FuelsinCartagena Spain.

The Engineering and Construction Manager Renewable Fuelswill provide technical leadership and project management oversight for renewable fuels capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects at the Spanish level ensuring alignment with Bunges Major Capital Projects Planning Policy (MCPPP). This role is critical for driving the successful design implementation and postimplementation review of key projects related to Bunges renewable fuels initiatives. This role includes responsibility for embedding process and construction safety in all capital projects.

Main functions:

  • Lead the (all MCPPP phases) of the major capital projects in the renewable fuels area as agreed with the project Steering Committee; lead strategic projects as required.
  • Support the CAPEX preparation for all phases of the project applications from a technical perspective.
  • Manage the stagegate development process as required.
  • Specify minimum standards / engineering standards for facility. Ensure that the global technical standards are available and used in the region to ensure safe and reliable design plants and grain silos.
  • Approval of suppliers together with the purchasing area and business areas.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate reporting on project implementation and Schedules management.
  • Work with external consultants and partners in prospecting contracting and conducting collaboration projects.
  • Periodically report the progress of on the status of the projects.
  • Ensure expert networks collaboration and liaise with the Global best practice leaders to ensure alignment of practices and standards in the renewable fuel projects. Disseminate the basic concepts of Project Management through periodic training for those involved.
  • Identifies negotiates and supports the resolution to issues within and between various streams/stakeholders as needed.
  • Organizes technical training for the networks in subject as appropriate.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering required; Chemical Civil Mechanical or Electrical/Automation related engineering preferred.
  • Masters degree or MBA preferred.
  • 20years engineering experience with at least 10 years of experience managing others.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in oils chemistry engineering and operations.
  • 10 years experience in management of major engineering/construction projects including estimating scheduling and cost control required; experience in oilseeds handling and processing is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of safety environmental sustainability quality and continuous improvement.
  • Project management methodologies proficiency.
  • Understanding of the Total Cost of Ownership Concepts.
  • General understanding of business performance indicators as WACC RONA and project economics.
  • Must possess a demonstrated high degree of tact in dealing with both plant staff and craft personnel.
  • The ability to gain various stakeholders support for ideas proposals and solutions as well as develop maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information assistance and support.
  • Travelling availability around 25 of the time.
