Position Purpose:
Operations Business Senior Managers are responsible for driving large crossfunctional projects focusing on bringing value to Home Depot through store operations process improvement. To do this these individuals are responsible for using highlevel strategic thinking to see the big picture solve multifaceted problems understand the fundamental parts of the problems and communicate the problems to a project team. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining project work plans manage issues and roadblocks faced during life of project and providing guidance and expert knowledge to all team members (direct reports and crossfunctional team members) Business Analysts Managers and crossfunctional resources. Operations Business Senior Managers act as liaisons with internal and external project affiliates and collaborate project results and make recommendations to executive sponsor and Steering Committee. Having strong communication skills and crossfunctionally partnering with all Operations teams and other Home Depot functional areas is critical for success of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive large crossfunctional projects focusing on bringing value to Home Depot through store operations process improvement
- Liaison with internal and external clients operations staff senior management/officers and others affiliated with project team
- Create and maintain multiple project work plans
- Manage issues and roadblocks faced during life of project and ensure issues are resolved
- Partner crossfunctionally with Operations process teams and all other SSC functional areas in driving change within Home Depot
- Use highlevel strategic thinking to see the big picture solve multifaceted problems understand the fundamental parts of the problems throughout the organization at all levels
- Identify new effective processes that are likely to add value to the stores bottom line
- Determine goals direction and action steps necessary to maximize shortterm and longterm success of projects in departments
- Ability to select retain and motivate high caliber crossfunctional staff including direct reports and fulltime resources committed to project from other functional areas
- Identify and correct key operational areas of improvement within Home Depots core business.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Direct reports 1 manager from within Operations and dedicated from other functional areas.
- Reports to Dir of Operations.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10 of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Under constant pressure to continuously meet tight deadlines demanding quotas and/or must regularly deal with difficult situations.
