The Fare Collections Supervisor maintains and ensures the collection of all Metro Transit bus cash fare revenue and revenueridership data including the direct supervision of Vault Pullers. Work is primarily performed in a garage setting where you will occasionally be required to work near moving parts or equipment as well as being frequently exposed to fumes particles and loud noises. This position also requires you to lift up to fortyfive 45 pounds on a frequent basis during an average eighthour shift and occasionally push mobile equipment weighing up to 2000 pounds.
*This recruitment will establish a six 6 month Eligibility List for current and future vacancies.
Plans assigns reviews and monitors the work of a staff of 10 FareCollections Specialists located at five Metro Transit facilities engaged in gathering revenue and data from Fare Collection equipment and securing them to a FC depository.
Perform inspections and monitor all Fare Collection facilities/equipment to observe compliance with established Council procedures and regulations and to provide expedient resolution of operational and fare collection problems including scheduling of maintenance.
Ensure safe collection and transportation of Council revenues via an armored service provider as well as reviewing/preparing daily activity reports to ensure a secure and accurate collections process.
Ensure all computer and GFI operating systems are operational and accurate in addition to adherence of security and surveillance procedures
Monitor compliance to Council and departmental policies and procedures and remediate and provide directions whenever necessary.
Control transfer inventory levels check usage trends and prepare requisition documents to procure bus transfer stock uniforms and operating supplies as needed for the efficient operation of Fare Collections activities.
Make recommendations regarding discipline/ rewarding of subordinates; authorize leave and overtime; evaluate employee performance and participates in the hiring progress by conducting interviews and making hiring recommendations.
Developing a daily strategy to ensure all at risk data is retrieved from FC equipment on board buses; perform audits to ensure transfer levels on board buses are optimal.
Preparation of daily statistical reports indicating Fare Collections performance and resource usage and availability.
Act as liaison to other departments and business partners to provide for an efficient regional bus transportation system and complete interdepartmental work orders as needed.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Any of the following combinations of completed education (in business management operations management or closely related field) and experience in business management operations management transit/public safety or closely related areas with at least one 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience:Required Experience:
