There is one fulltime permanent Resource Advisor position available starting on May 05 2025 working 37.5 hours per week.
Your Role:
Provides information and support to all clients using the Resource Centre. Conducts needs assessments to determine eligibility for various Agency programs and provides information on additional community resources as necessary. Facilitates job search and employment preparation workshops as required. Offers friendly professional efficient and effective customer service.
Tasks:
Client Service:
- Advises clients as they use the Resource Centre in the areas of employment career planning education and training.
- Responds to client and community partner inquiries inperson over the phone and via email.
- Provides information on cover letter and resume development interview skills job searching and supports clients using Resource Centre computers.
- Updates photocopies and faxes resumes for clients; supports with the completion of online applications.
- Conducts client assessments to determine service eligibility employment and career planning needs; recommends resources and makes appropriate referrals.
- Remains knowledgeable and uptodate on all tools and supports available in the Resource Centre including community resource pamphlets and flyers computer software accessibility tools and career planning assessments; provides guidance and assistance to individuals using these resources.
- Ensures that program and community information brochures are current and available.
- Identifies resources for continuous improvement of services and assists in their acquisition.
- Organizes communication boards including community events and resources job boards and employment resources.
- Completes client followup calls for programs as requested.
- Facilitates information sessions Resource Centre tours and job search career development health and safety and job maintenance workshops to groups or individuals.
- In conjunction with the ES team organizes the scheduling of special events promotional activities and information sessions for educational and community organizations employers and clients.
- Administers customer satisfaction surveys on a regular basis. Reviews results with Supervisor and implements action based on customer feedback.
- Works with Supervisor to develop Resource Centre daytoday operational systems that will best serve clients and staff.
- Responds to difficult or challenging client behavior using calming techniques.
- Provides crisis intervention assistance for clients including housing referrals income support and other external community resources.
Administration:
- Completes opening and closing procedures for the Resource Centre.
- Ensures the Resource Centre is clean professional and safe.
- Maintains Resource Centre equipment and supplies including printers/photocopiers computers and telephone.
- Assists with the implementation of the marketing strategy and promotions as required.
- Maintains client files according to agency and funding guidelines; prepares for file audit requirements.
- Records and tracks Resource Centre activity levels as required by individual programs.
- Stays current on labour market information related to job openings entry and skill requirements and other occupational information.
- Assists with developing and updating workshop content to meet current trends and client needs.
- Meets agency and funder outcomes as well as monthly individual targets.
- Participates in Employment Services meetings and training opportunities as scheduled.
Your Talents and Experience:
Knowledge and experience of employment/career development through direct or indirect experience. Diploma or degree in a related discipline or 12 years equivalent experience. Ability to relate well with the public. Strong organizational communication and administrative skills desired. Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment and as part of a high performing team. Some evening work will be required. Excellent oral and written skills. Working knowledge of MS Office and various social media platforms.
