Job Description

GARNEY CONSTRUCTION

As an Employee Relations Manager in North Kansas City MO at Garney Construction you will play a crucial part in fostering a positive and supportive work environment by managing employee relations resolving conflicts and ensuring compliance with employment laws.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Develop and implement effective employee relations strategies and policies.
  • Guide performance management processes and conflict resolution initiatives.
  • Investigate and address employee complaints and grievances promptly.
  • Mediate disputes between employees and management.
  • Conduct training programs on employee relations topics.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to update policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee relations activities.
  • Stay uptodate on employment law and industry trends.
  • Analyze data and information to assess the cost and policy implications of negotiations and disputes.
  • Conduct research on human resource policies compensation and other employment issues.
  • Provide legal guidance and advice to managers supervisors and employees.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel and departments in negotiations with employee and labor groups.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience in employee relations HR management or a similar role.
  • Union employee relations expreince
  • Immigration law expreince
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws regulations and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Demonstrated problemsolving and decisionmaking skills with a proactive and solutionoriented mindset.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to comprehend interpret and apply relevant laws guidelines regulations ordinances and policies.
  • Bachelors degree in Employee Relations Human Resources or a related field.
  • Four years of professional human resource administration experience with at least two years in employee relations preferred.
  • SHRMCP or SHRMSCP certification is a plus.
