What youll do
SAP recently decided to combine and harmonize all SAP Sovereign Cloud offerings establishing an endtoend process for the Public Sector and regulated industries. The newly created Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit is part of SAP Product Engineering with responsibility across the relevant Sovereign Cloud portfolio of SAP. Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations is collaborating closely with all Board areas to establish a harmonized scalable and consistent offering with transparent and standardized deliverables.
In this role you will join the SAP Sovereign Cloud Automation & Tooling team and lead the Quality Engineering efforts for the Operations Control Plane (OCP)a core product responsible for observability control and policy enforcement in regulated cloud landscapes. You will drive test strategy quality automation and compliance validation for a modern microservicesbased WebApp stack built with and React.
You will collaborate closely with developers architects and product managers to ensure the delivery of secure performant and regulationcompliant solutions that meet the high standards required for Sovereign Cloud. As a quality leader you will have the opportunity to define and evolve automation best practices at scale and contribute to the success of the SAP Sovereign Cloud platform.
In the role of Automation Quality Lead you will:
- Define and implement the endtoend Test Strategy for the WebApp landscape ( backend React frontend).
- Build and evolve automation frameworks for UI API integration and performance testing using modern JS/TS tooling e.g. Playwright Cypress Jest.
- Integrate automation pipelines into CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions Jenkins or SAP internal toolchains.
- Establish test governance quality metrics and compliance coverage aligned with Sovereign Cloud requirements.
- Conduct quality reviews and provide technical leadership across automation initiatives.
- Guide developers and QA engineers in shiftleft testing code quality practices and issue triage.
- Collaborate with architects and operations teams to validate deployment monitoring and logging from a QA perspective.
- Drive test data strategy environment readiness and support test planning for classified or securitysensitive workloads.
- Contribute to documentation and readiness of the product for internal and external audits.
What you bring
- Degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical field.
- 10 years of experience in quality engineering with fullstack WebApps ideally in enterprise SaaS or cloudnative environments.
- Proven handson experience with JavaScript/TypeScriptbased test automation including React frontend and backend.
- Deep knowledge of modern testing frameworks (Playwright Cypress Jest Mocha Supertest etc..
- Experience integrating tests into DevOps pipelines and working in Agile/DevSecOps teams.
- Understanding of compliance security and data residency concerns in regulated environments.
- Excellent communication coordination and crossteam collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead discussions on quality ownership test design and risk mitigation.
Nice to have
- Experience with Sovereign Cloud SAP BTP or regulated industry solutions.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes Helm and microservicebased architecture.
- Exposure to contract testing performance/load testing or service mocking.
- Understanding of secure development lifecycles vulnerability scanning and traceability.
